Our Story

17 Years of Family Dentistry in the North Georgia Mountains

East Ellijay Family & Cosmetic Dentistry is a three-dentist practice in Ellijay, Georgia, founded in 2009 by Dr. David L. Settel, DMD, FAGD and Dr. Cynthia P. Hall Sosebee, DMD. For 17 years we have cared for families across Gilmer County and the surrounding North Georgia mountains, treating patients from age 0 to 105 in a modern, relaxing office.

Our team offers a full range of general, restorative, and cosmetic services, including dental implants, Invisalign clear aligners, and Botox therapy for TMJ and bruxism. Updated technology and continuing education keep our care current for every patient who walks through our doors.

Dr. David L. Settel, DMD, FAGD

Founding Partner, General Dentist

Dr. Settel grew up in Ellijay and married his high school sweetheart, Amanda. He attended the University of Georgia for a BS in biology and microbiology, then earned his DMD from the Medical College of Georgia and completed a General Practice residency focused on implants, surgery, and sedation. Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry, Fellow in the International College of Dentists, passed the fellowship exam for the International College of Oral Implantology. Member of the Hinman Dental Society, the American Dental Association, and the Georgia Dental Association. He enjoys Georgia Bulldog athletics, the Atlanta Braves, spending time outdoors, hunting with his father and son, and family movie nights.

Dr. Cynthia P. Hall Sosebee, DMD

Partner, General Dentist

Dr. Sosebee, known to many as Dr. Hall, is a 1992 graduate of the University of Georgia and a 1996 graduate of the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry. She completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency through the US Army at Fort Benning and served four years of active duty caring for special forces units, also serving as a triage officer for the 14th Field Hospital, a MASH unit. She entered private practice in Gilmer County in 1999 and has raised her daughter Madison in the North Georgia mountains. She enjoys the outdoors, gardening, side-by-sides, home-improvement projects, and church activities with East Ellijay Baptist Church.

Dr. Michael S. Dillard, DMD

Associate Dentist

Dr. Dillard is a Whitfield County native who earned his Associate of Science at Dalton State College and Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and Chemistry at Kennesaw State University. After working as a chemist for several years, he earned his DMD at the Medical College of Georgia. He loves practicing dentistry in Gilmer County and helping improve the oral health and smiles of his patients in Ellijay and the surrounding area. An avid reader, he enjoys thrifting and quiet time in the hills of North Georgia, and divides his spare time among his four children at concerts, festivals, ball games, and outdoor activities.

Our office at 21 Westbrook Ct. in Ellijay, Georgia is centrally located for families across Gilmer County and the surrounding North Georgia mountains. We welcome patients from East Ellijay (just minutes away), Ellijay, Blue Ridge (about 25 minutes north), and Jasper (about 30 minutes south). Most appointments are within a comfortable drive, and our Monday through Friday hours (8 to 5) make it easy to schedule cleanings, restorative visits, and cosmetic consultations for the whole family.
